Reading these figures

Is a center with more findings less safe?

Not by itself. Most findings are record-keeping, training-hour and maintenance items, and inspectors in some states check hundreds of standards per visit. Read what each finding was, its risk level where the state gives one, and how fast it was corrected. Every profile links to the state record.

Why can't states be compared directly?

Each state inspects on its own schedule, cites under its own rules and publishes a different window. Texas rates risk; Connecticut and Delaware do not. California publishes counts of Type A and Type B citations rather than line items. Compare centers within one state.
