There were two big old 40’s cars with the doors removed in the yard for us to play in. We learned songs accompanied by a piano-playing teacher and painted while wearing one of our fathers’ old dress shirts buttoned on backward. I have the fondest of memories and, given that Carousel’s still there 58 years…
