Ensure the use of air fresheners is prohibited, LS McPhatter observed a plug in air freshener in the side entry way and in the toddler classroom. Ensure that unused electrical outlets and unused power strips or outlet multipliers are not accessible to children. LS McPhatter observed a outlet multiplier to the right of the side entrance with no covers and several outlets with no covers.
Ratios, Group Size, and Supervision (regulation 27U)
Ensure direct supervision is occuring at all times. LS McPhatter observed staff #1 leave the classroom with all 11 children to let 9 children out of the building to the bus. Staff #1 turned around and told the two remaining children to go back into the classroom while she stayed at the door to watch the others get on the bus. This was corrected when LS McPhatter informed Staff #1 that the children have to be with her if she intends to exit the school-age classroom threshold. Ls McPhatter explained direct supervision and how to remain in compliance.
